Description

The original hotel built in 1840 sits in 55 acres of ground on the Western outskirts of Edinburgh. The hotel's owners, the Hand Picked Hotels Group decided to add a 34 bedroom extension and a state of the art spa and leisure complex.

The new buildings which take full advantage of the contours of the existing landscape include luxury bedrooms including penthouse suites, executive rooms and duplex bedrooms, swimming pool, cafe/bar area, fitness suites, conferencing facilities and all the accompanying facilities.

As part of the construction team headed by Ogilvie Construction we were involved from the initial cost reviewing exercise, through to final handover.

The contours of the land allowed the designers to incorporate discrete external spaces where the mechanical ventilation equipment was located.

The high standard of internal finishes are a feature of this exclusive development and a great deal of attention was paid to smallest details to ensure the clients expectations were achieved.
